Excellent new video over on MRU! Some will know that due to flood damage back in 2013 and further deterioration the lovely railway my dad built for me when I was 10 had to be broken up, the boards never recovered from the flood and much of it fell apart, but to say the process of breaking it up was awful is perhaps my biggest understatement to date.
However, what have you been given you might ask, well, back in 2022 when Dapol brought out their stunning Manor class, I purchased Lydham manor and explained to you that my family and I had a ride behind her in 1977 and that my dad had described the trip on one of my cassette tapes, but that sadly the tape had gone missing presumed lost in a house move.
The very same process of clearing the garage ready for works that led to the demise of my layout also reunited me with the tape, and despite the 49 years that have passed amazingly it still played and sounded good. https://youtu.be/Mdiqq1VaEKo

Join us on the magical West Somerset Railway for a long steam train ride, taking in the sights and sounds this railway has to provide. All expertly filmed and with no wind noise.
We’ll see our Manor class Engine working hard as well as seeing class 33 and 35 locomotives and even a under repair class 52.
Later at Minehead we see a GWR Pannier tank, 2-6-0 and another Manor class Odney Manor. Still more to see with a Hudswell Clarke steam loco and another Hymek class 35.
