In the Sunday School lesson of the Maranata Christian Church on September 27, 2026, Pastor Gerson Beluci spoke about salvation, good works, revelation, and testimonies about Jesus. Afterward, the president of the ICM, Pastor Alexandre Gueiros, developed a message about Christ in the Scriptures that ended with a long warning against religious leaders and preachers. However, the president of the ICM himself recently received important public awards and honors—events received and positively publicized by the institution itself. At the same time, the members are presented with the desirable title: "USELESS SERVANTS." So we ask: is the same criterion of humility applied to members and preachers of other denominations being applied to the ICM leadership itself? It is not a matter of saying that receiving an honor is necessarily wrong or proof of vanity. Precisely for this reason, the criterion must apply to everyone. We will also examine the criticism of religious traditions, the concept of the "body of Christ," the assertion that there is protection in the "church that is listening to what the Holy Spirit is saying," and the contrast created between this church and "these preachers" who supposedly do not have true communion with the body. The purpose of this live stream is simple: to apply to the Maranata Christian Church the same criteria used by its own leaders to evaluate others.
