I’m sharing the Black children’s books I actually recommend—and why.
This is not a random reading list. These books help children understand Africa beyond stereotypes, make sense of slavery and resistance, learn how change really happens, and grow confidence in who they are.
I’ve organized them into four themes:
• Africa: history, culture, and complexity
• Slavery, escape, and survival
• Civil rights, organizing, and collective action
• Black excellence, joy, and imagination
All titles and purchase links are available in the description and inside my Skool community.
If you’re a parent, educator, or auntie thinking carefully about what stories children grow up with—this live is for you.
