ABOUT THE CASE Former American Idol contestant and worship pastor Caleb Flynn stands trial in Ohio for the alleged murder of his wife, Ashley Flynn. Prosecutors allege that Flynn shot Ashley while she was in bed and staged the scene to resemble a home invasion. They say his messages to an alleged mistress, a missing handgun, the 911 call and evidence from the Flynn residence point to a planned killing. The defense acknowledges that Flynn had an affair but argues that being an unfaithful husband does not make him a murderer. His attorneys maintain that an intruder killed Ashley and contend that investigators focused prematurely on Flynn and interpreted the evidence around that conclusion.
