I know this will be a hot take and I'm almost certain this is a sentiment I might be alone on. I’m literally working on forcing my opinion to change but atm- Ye Shunguang is the sickest most “broken” DPS I’ve played since pre-buff Sanby.
She has blatant ultra instinct Goku levels of power with the dumbest freaking contradicting kit possible. She looks cool as heck doing everything imaginable and has almost everything you’d want. • raw DMG • 99% I-frames • Void Hunter • EXTREMELY EASY +50k score range in Deadly Assault * Ignores almost every mechanic in the game for better DMG performance, etc.
All of that to have HALF of her kit be practically useless! Why make “the first dual-form” character just for one of her forms to be completely redundant? It’s just spamming BAs until you get sword force, and getting Sword Force is already conditional in its own right. I thought, maybe her base form would do something similar to Cartitheya from WuWa but no. Her kit "feels" physically broken.
Imagine if base form Cart did absolutely NOTHING except spam attacks so you can get into big Cart, but spamming took 4yrs so you NEEDED Cia & Chisa/SK to get into big Cart faster. Big Cart only last until you do big Ult and you can only do big Ult once per 2-3x transformations, and nobody else in the game benefits you to help your gameplan. You either get the fast transformation but no power or power with slow transformations.
Mind you, there's still the physical flaws in the game like if you get caught in a parry sequence and Ye Shunguang enters Ultra Instinct. She'll actively screw up the entire parry chain because she needs to aura farm in mid-air. Oh and if Zhao is doing her off-field GS charge, now you can't parry into anyone else either. I thought these things were just one offs at first but after playing the same 2 fights over and over for +8hrs I don't believe they're one offs anymore. ——
I’m still testing and I enjoy theory crafting what’s possible but I’ve never been this disappointed in a DPS Agent from Zenless before. I just feel like they took a concept from Hi3 (WuWa is most recent) but didn’t even bother looking at why it works in the first place. The "Dual-form" aspect should make BOTH forms useful. Base form should do SOMETHING for UI form, not just "rush to 6 stacks for DMG mode" because going into big PP DMG mode without proper resources is also a problem.
I want to be wrong about this so bad cause she quickly became one of my favorite Agents from the lore alone, but FU-! If anyone has any vital info that can help me change my opinions or see things differently please send it my way.
