β‘οΈ Rabies usually spreads through the bite or scratch of an infected animal, most often a dog. Once symptoms appear, rabies is almost always fatal, but quick action can save lives.
What can you do?
π Vaccinate dogs against rabies.
πΏ If bitten or scratched, wash the wound well with soap and water for about 15 minutes.
π₯ Get medical care immediately, donβt wait for symptoms.
π’ Teach children not to touch unknown or sick animals.
π€ Share trusted information with family and friends.
π«±πΌβπ«²πΎ Doctors, vets, governments, schools and communities all have a part to play.
πβ€οΈ Protecting animals helps protect people too.
