‎Alexandra Anna Daddario was born on March 16, 1986 in New York City. She grew up on Manhattan’s Upper East Side to a family with Italian, Irish, English, and Slovak roots; her father, Richard Daddario, is a former prosecutor and NYPD counter‑terrorism chief, and her mother, Christina, is a lawyer. Her younger brother Matthew Daddario and sister Catharine Daddario are also actors, and her grandfather Emilio Q. Daddario served as a U.S. congressman. ‎ ‎She decided to become an actress at age 11 and began her career at 16, landing a recurring role as Laurie Lewis on the ABC daytime soap All My Children (2002–2003).
