In this video, we’re building a simple LM317 adjustable power supply that can take up to 25V DC input and provide an adjustable output from around 1V to 24V The circuit uses the popular LM317 voltage regulator, a 5KΩ potentiometer for output adjustment, a 270Ω resistor, and filtering capacitors to provide a stable adjustable DC output. I’ve also shown the circuit in a clear 3D-style layout, along with the actual schematic and LM317 pin arrangement, so it’s easier to understand how everything is connected. Circuit Specifications • Input: Up to 25V DC • Adjustable output: Approximately 1V–24V DC • Regulator: LM317 • Adjustment: 5KΩ potentiometer • R2: 270Ω • Input capacitor: 1000µF / 63V • Output capacitor: 10µF / 63V • Suitable for electronics projects, testing, DIY power supplies and bench applications • Use an appropriate heatsink when drawing higher current from the LM317. Important: The LM317 is a linear regulator, so the voltage difference between input and output is converted into heat. At higher current or with a large input/output voltage difference, a proper heatsink is essential.
