It is wild, chaotic, and it ends with one of the most ominous verses in the entire Bible. Judges 21:25 says: "In those days Israel had no king; everyone did as they saw fit." Modern culture tells us to "live our truth" and do whatever feels right to us. But the Bible shows us that when everyone does as they see fit, it leads to an absolute disaster. Israel went on a wild rollercoaster of disobedience because they refused to submit to God as their King. And when the chaos got to be too much, they demanded a human king to fix it—which only brought more disaster. Human solutions can never fix a spiritual problem.
