Shada Aloor Torkari and Fulko Luchi – the perfect Sunday brunch that I'd devour any day of the week!
This gem of a recipe isn't just a perfect brunch idea but also suits the Shosti tradition, a pure veg day. And for those observing Navaratri, a simple swap of atta for jowar flour or cornstarch transforms it into a Navaratri treat.
Shada Aloor Torkari, or White Potato Curry, is a dish that charms with its simplicity and delights with its flavor. The absence of turmeric gives it its name, as it appears almost like a plain white curry. But let me tell you, appearances can be deceiving! This quintessential Bengali recipe, a staple of my childhood, has a place in every Bengali’s heart.
Pair it with soft and fluffy fulko luchi (recipe already available in the reels section), and treat yourself to the irresistible goodness of this simple yet delightful Bengali feast!
RECIPE:-
500 gms potatoes cut into 1 inch cubes
3-4 green chillies
1 large tomato
2 tbsp mustard oil
2 bay leaves
2-3 dried red chillies
1 tbsp nigella seed(kala jeera)
Salt to taste
1 tsp sugar
1 tsp flour mixed in water
