β οΈ These conditions often need care for many years, which means more visits, medicines, tests and treatments, and more chances for something to go wrong.
π Globally, 1 in 10 patients is harmed during health care*, and around half of that harm may be preventable. For some conditions, including cancer, up to *1 in 3 patients may experience an adverse event during care.
Safer care means:
ππ½ββοΈ Asking questions if something is unclear.
π Keeping an updated list of medicines.
π¨πΎββοΈ Making sure health workers know about all your conditions.
π£οΈ Speaking up if something feels wrong.
π€²πΌ Involving patients and families in decisions.
The message this year is simple: Safe care for life!
𧑠On 17 September, landmarks around the world will glow orange to show support, including Genevaβs Jet dβEau.
