Autumn at Großer Ahornboden 🍁🇦🇹
One of our October traditions: heading to one of the most famous places in the Alps for autumn colors.
At the beginning of October, the centuries-old maple trees around Eng are at their peak, glowing yellow while much of the surrounding forest is still green. Higher up, though, autumn was already in full swing — deep orange and red everywhere.
We started together as a family, walking through the valley and climbing among the maple trees. After lunch in Eng, the family headed back through the valley while I continued up into the mountains, crossing the Gramaisjoch at around 2,000 m before looping back.
