Many tumor cells try to metastasize, but few manage to survive the journey. What makes those that do so special?
That's precisely what's being researched at IRB Barcelona @irbbarcelona through the AECC Excellence Program: Metastasis, of the AECC Scientific Foundation. They are investigating the mechanisms that allow these cells to survive, remain hidden, and reactivate.
Because understanding how metastasis occurs is fundamental to finding new ways to fight it.
