Welcome to Merrydowns our 65-acre country estate located a mile into the forest and surrounded by thousands of acres of a Maine Wildlife Sanctuary. In 2024, Mathew and I (my name is Jenny - hello) purchased the old farmhouse and 1769 barn and outbuildings bringing with us our menagerie of rescue animals with the dream of restoring it to its former glory and embracing the simple life.
Since then, we've done a lot of work and life is very full (brimming over most days). There's still the barn to restore, gardens to create, and a tiny off-grid cabin that we plan to turn into a fairytale hut. Although Mat is a lobsterman, he also is a carpenter, so we are in good hands. As far as I go, well I hope to add a little flare with gardening, interior decorating - I love all antiques - sewing and homesteading.
