Welcome to The African Village Woman Podcast. I am Dr. Yoknyam Dabale. Born and raised in rural Northern Nigeria, I bring the perspective of an African village woman. Like many African village women, I am multifaceted, and this podcast is one of the many things I do.
This podcast places African village women at the center of conversations about Africa and the world—not as perpetual victims, as they are often portrayed, but as knowledgeable, resilient, and resourceful human beings whose voices and contributions deserve to be heard.
Through Pan-African and Afrocentric perspectives, I connect African village women and their contributions with the global Black diaspora.
🎙️ New episodes every Tuesday.
Tuku bini-a Yotti phrase from Northeastern Nigeria meaning unity. Together, we can break down information barriers and amplify the voices of African village women.
