Mika Kim | Contemporary Mixed Media Artist

Korean-born contemporary artist living and working in the United States.

My work explores color, texture, movement, and emotion through painting, drawing, fabric, and installation. Working intuitively with layers and repeated gestures, I allow each artwork to evolve through experimentation and transformation.

My practice is energetic, raw, and expressive—embracing imperfection, spontaneity, and the unexpected.

Through my ongoing Creating Every Day series, I share my artistic process, everyday studio life, and the continuous evolution of my paintings.

My work has been exhibited internationally across the United States, Canada, South Korea, Europe, and Southeast Asia, including SCOPE Art Miami, CONTEXT Art Miami, and Affordable Art Fair New York.

I’m thrilled to share my latest art project with you! I painted a piece of fabric and I’d love for you to have it. I’ll send it to you. Once you get it, feel free to draw and write your own words on it. Then, frame it or just hang it on your wall in any way you like. I’ll tell you that it’s super easy and makes you feel creative that’s worth it, right? No need to go to therapists anymore. I’m so excited to see what you create!

If you’re interested in it, please feel free to email me. I’ll send you all the details, including the price, how to proceed with the work, how to be finished, and so on. Looking forward to hearing from you!

"she is on her way back from a party" Acrylic and mixed media on canvas,
155 x 155 cm

This piece is made with acrylic and mixed media on canvas. I tried to capture the emptiness in the human mind with the delicate line drawing and thread.
