OYA Media Group is a woman-led, award-winning production company based in Toronto, founded in 2018 by filmmakers Alison Duke and Ngardy Conteh George. Named after the African goddess Oya, the company creates socially relevant, life-changing stories that amplify Black experiences across film, TV, and virtual reality. With 20+ years in documentaries, OYA now produces original scripted and unscripted content with global reach.

OYA’s productions include the CSA award-winning Mr. Jane and Finch (2019) and Black Community Mixtapes (2024). Their feature documentary A Mother Apart won a top 3 audience award at Hot Docs 2024 and Best Feature at Inside Out. In 2024 Bam Bam: The Sister Nancy Story premiered at Tribeca and is now streaming on Crave in Canada and Kinema worldwide. For The Culture with Amanda Parris - season two is now streaming on CBC Gem and Youtube in Canada.
