David Bouhadana is an Emmy Award winning chef, restaurateur, entrepreneur, and storyteller redefining modern sushi culture. As the founder of Sushi by Bou, he has built one of the most recognizable omakase experiences in the United States.
The first foreigner to earn an official tuna dismantling certification in Japan, David became a pioneer of the global tuna carving movement, bridging East and West with his craft. His recognition extends beyond the kitchen, he was named an ambassador of Susaki in Kochi, Japan, where he continues to deepen cultural exchange and culinary education.
David also leads JCTP (Japanese Culinary Training Program), an immersive two-week initiative where chefs from around the world learn directly from Japanese masters, blending tradition with innovation.
With his award-winning Shokunin series and years at the forefront of New York’s sushi renaissance, David’s work showcases sushi as not just food but as an art form, a discipline, and a way of life.
