Mani Karthik - Invidious

I’m a US return NRI, 44, living in Kochi - Kerala, and still figuring out what a good life actually looks like.

I grew up in a middle-class family in India, worked in Dubai and the US, lived in America for almost a decade, and moved back to India in 2018 for good (I also run a support group for NRIs like me who are thinking of returning to India backtoindia.com/start).

Since my return, I’ve built businesses, made money, missed opportunities, taken risks, and made some expensive mistakes.

One of my current goals is to build a clean ₹1 crore investment corpus. I’ve already started, and I’m documenting the journey openly, including what works, what doesn’t, and how long it actually takes.

This channel is about money, my return to India journey, India vs America, investing, spending, mistakes, family, freedom, and building a life I actually enjoy.

I also run BackToIndia, a community for NRIs thinking about moving back.

Love,
MK
