My name is Arlie Caudill.
I was raised up a holler in Letcher County, Kentucky, and I have never lived anywhere else. My people have been in these mountains since before Kentucky was a state. We carried our water from the spring, put up what the garden gave us, and fixed what broke instead of buying it again. Most of what I know, I learned from my Mamaw and Papaw by following them around and being handed things.
On this channel, I pass along the ways we still live up here. These are the practical skills that kept mountain families fed and looked after without somebody sending them a bill every month
You will find videos on gardening, canning and putting up food, root cellars, keeping bees and chickens, what grows on the mountain and what it is good for, and doing for yourself what most folks now pay somebody else to do.
I will tell you what works and what does not. I am not selling you anything
