I’m a bridge engineer in Perth, and I spend a lot of my time pointing cameras at structures.

Some of that is time-lapses of things being built and 3D scans. The rest is measuring: cracks, deflection and condition, using ordinary gear like a phone, a GoPro or a consumer drone. When I test something, I show how accurate it turned out to be, including when it wasn’t.

Before Perth, I spent six years looking after bridges in Northland, NZ.
