Jay McCarthy is an emerging reggae and dancehall artiste, songwriter, and musician (born October 9, 1988), hailing from Kingston, Jamaica, a city widely regarded as the heartbeat of Jamaica’s rich musical culture. Raised in an environment where music was more than entertainment—it was a way of life—Jay developed a deep connection to sound, rhythm, and storytelling from an early age. From a tender age, he fell in love with reggae and dancehall music, inspired by the powerful messages, infectious beats, and the ability of music to bring people together. Growing up, he spent countless hours listening to legendary artistes such as Bounty Killer, Beres Hammond & Buju Banton, studying their lyrical delivery, stage presence, and the cultural impact of their work. These early influences played a pivotal role in shaping his own artistic identity.
Driven, passionate, and committed to his craft, Jay aims to use his music not only to entertain but also to inspire and uplift. #fullyfocus
